AERIUS Marine GmbH is a market leader in design of maritime HVAC solutions and a global player in the fields of piping, refrigeration and fire protection. For a cruise liner project, AERIUS has asked conmecs to evaluate the ventilation system configuration of different passenger cabin designs.

For this purpose, the cabins had been modeled in full-scale containing all details as furniture, heat sources like TV screens, windows, human bodies, etc.

CFD results showed details such as flow separations and short circuits and the ventilation duct system had been improved in terms of “comfort values”, such as maximum air flow velocities and vertical temperature differences.
